I wish I had known about this website before this week.

On June 17, 2003, I received a call a man who identified himself as Rob Meadows from First Choice offering a credit card for $298.00. The funds would be withdrawn from my checking account on June 27, 2003. After agreeing to the offer, I became suspicious and returned to call listed on my caller ID. I only accessed a recorded message. Since that time I made daily attempts to talk to someone, always getting a recording. I left messages every call, none were returned.

Beginning June 19, 2003, every message I left contained the fact that I withdrew permission for First Choice to make a withdrawal from my checking account and left my phone number to return my call. I called three time each day, June 19, 20, 21, 23, 24, and 25. On June 26 I actually spoke with a woman who refused to give her name. After explaining I no longer wanted the program, she told me nothing could be done until after the payment was received. I once again told her that I no longer gave permission to withdrawal the funds. She said that it was not possible to stop the withdrawal. She stopped the conversation by hanging up on me.

On June 27, 2003, I once again managed to speak to a live person after finding that the withdrawal went through anyway. "Iris" became combative with me and I asked to speak to her supervisor. A man named "Kevin" came on the line and told me too late, once the payment is received there would be no refund made. I told him I withdrew my permission on daily messages since June 19. He stated "too bad, you needed to speak to someone in person." That was impossible as their phones were never answered before June 26 by a live voice.

Kevin ended the conversation by hanging up.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB serving Southern Nevada, the Pennsylvania Attorney Generals Office, and will be filing with the FTC and FCC as well.
