here is what happen:

On August 12, 2009 at 430p, I left work, and as I was walking to the parking lot, I noticed that my vehicle was not parked where I left it, as I was getting closer to the lot, I talk with the guard on duty and he advised that he didn't see my vehicle, so he called the guard that was on duty prior to his shift and he stated the same thing.

I then called the HPD(Hartford Police Department), and they said no information was on file regarding my car, so I panicked thinking that someone had stolen my car, I then tried calling the finance company and at the time of day, and they had gone home for the evening, still in panic mode, I called my brother to come and take me home, then I called 911 and a state law person answered the phone and stated that my car was towed but didn't know what company did the towing, I then advised the security guard on duty of what the state police said and he advised that there were no tow trucks that came inside the parking lot or left from the lot.

I then got scared, because I didn't know what was going on, the security guard then called his supervisor over and they both said that they will handle the situation and do an investigation. The next day, on Thursday, August 13, 2009, I got a visit from the head security guard and he told me that they viewed the tape, and the guy who was taking my car impersonated an Aetna Employee/Contractor and that's why someone let them through the gate.

I called Source One Financial to see if they had anything to with my vehicle being taken, and I talk with Dottie, first she came on the line very rude asking me what is it, I told her what happen to my car and she said I owe them 252.00, I ask why didn't they call me to setup whatever arrangement I could have made, because I get paid on every other Friday, Dottie replied that they don't have to call if they don't want to, I ask her why would someone impersonate an Aetna Employee and take my car for 252.00 without my permission or knowing, that doesn't make any sense. Dottie became very short with me and told me that if I don't pay the amount I couldn't get my car, I told her I wanted to speak to her supervisor and she hung up on me.

I called again to speak to Dottie , she push me to voicemail.

At this point I'm so stress and my head is aching , so on my lunch break I go to the western union place and send the 252.00 quick collect, I called Source One again to talk with Dottie and Sue Clancy who gave me a hard time in the past told me that Dottie was on lunch and to call back in about 20mins, I waited 20mins called Source One and got Dottie , I gave her the western union MTCN number for the amount I sent and ask her for the information to get my vehicle, she told me Medina's , I ask Dottie what else do I need to bring with me to retrieve my car, she stated 350.00. I went to Medina's Towing on airport road in Hartford , CT.

The guy there told me that its going to be 475.00 I ask why he said it was for 2 days of storage which is 50.00 a day and 375.00 I told him that my car was taking yesterday in the early noon time , and that's not 2 days, , I then advised the guy that I was told by Dottie that it would be 350.00, he then told me to contact Tammi at Source One, I called back the finance company talk with Tammi and she stating that it is 375.00, I then repeated myself and said that Dottie told me 350.00 and to put Dottie on the phone, she refuse to come to the phone, and the man told me he got a fax that stated 375.00 and to charge me for whatever else he wanted to charge me, I then told the man to let me see the fax he refused to let me see any paper work, so I paid the man 475.00 because I needed my car and I had to get back n forth to work.

After I left the towing company Tammi calls me and states that the extra money was for the key that had to be made to retrieve my car, I told Tammi that 1, I didn't authorize my vehicle to be taken from my job and 2, I didn't tell the towing company get any keys made for my car, and 3 no one called me to advised me of any retrieval of my vehicle,so why am I being penalize for that. Tammi became rude with me and hung up the phone, I had such a frustrating day with Dottie , Tammi and Sue Clancy that I didn't want to be bothered anymore , so I decided to have the BBB and consumer protection look into this for me, I have been so stress since yesterday that I have been unable to sleep, and I'm still stress with constant headaches.

I hope you are able to help me, because if they went to great lengths to put me through rigorous changes like this, I can imagine what they are doing to other consumers like myself as well. Please feel free to contact me if you need anything else. Thank you for your help.

What Robert said was right on point. He was so much on point and hit the nail exactly and squarely on the head that you can't stand it! He was right...100% right! In typical subprime thinking fashion your only response is that he must work for them. How incredibly pathetic. As for the BBB...they will get a higher phoney accreditation score when they buy a phoney accreditation score which is what the BBB is in business for.

Oh yes, I don't work for the lender either!

First let me just say, its quite obvious that you need to pay your loan and the vechile or any property of the consumer wont get reposessed, however, what you fail to touch on and point out , is that the way your company SOURCE ONE FINANCIAL and your employees DOTTIE BRANDSFIELD , the woman who sounds like a man (or probably is one) SUE CLANCY. Treat consumers such as myself and obvisiously many other consumers that have used your business. Its a horrible shame that you PEOPLE, lie on a daily basics, cheat the system and consumer, rob everyone who does business with you guys, and kill the trust we as consumers put into a worthless company like SOURCEONE FINANCIAL.

You also didnt mention how both csrs need additional  training on how to treat people with dignity and respect, the company lacks intergrity and from your response to cover up the matter it shows you lack integrity as well, I dont know how you guys get up in the morning and face yourselfs but GOD DONT LIKE AUGLY, and what comes around goes around, you cant treat people wrong everyday or talk down to people like they are nothing, I feel the government needs to look into you guys and getting your license and business revoke and that you guys should be put out of business.. STOP LIEING to the customer. BE HONEST!! stop covering up wrongness and provided additional training for all of your customer service reps, because like the last person said you guys will do it to the wrong person ! OH YEA and fix your score with the BBB

You were late with your payments, so the company repossesed.  It's really your responsibility to know when your payments are due.  The loan company is not your mother.  They don't have to call you to remind you when you are late (I suspect that you probably knew you were behind).  Since you stated that someone else at the company had given you a hard time in the past, it would also seem safe to assume that you've been behind before.  Hence the quick and dirty repo.

When that happens, you are liable for all costs associated with the repossesion.  In this case, they probably had to get duplicate keys because it's unlikely that security would have allowed the tow truck onto the lot.

They are not required to ask your permission to reposses.   That would be absurd.  How many cars do you think would still be there if they called ahead and let the owners know that they were repossesing?

Bottom line, when you do not make payments on time, you risk repossesion.
