My wife and I visited Source1Marine in July 2013. We were interested in a 1998 Regal Ventura Boat that was on the website. Mark, the salesman was rude when we decided to make an offer on the boat, and told us we needed to place a deposit on the boat to show we were serious before he would present the offer to the owner or manager of the boat dealership. I ask him if we placed a deposit on the boat, if anything was wrong when we sea trialed the boat, would it be fixed and he assured us it would be. We gave a deposit on the boat and returned on July 4th for a sea trial. First thing, the boat did not start easily, then the radio did not work, then the shower on the transom did not work. After returning to the dock, we went inside and Mark ask us for the rest of the money.

I told him we wanted everything fixed, and he said that he meant only the major items. At that point we should have ask for our deposit back, but with the way he intimidated us we just gave them the money and took the boat home. Well, after two hours of use on our second outing, the motor blew up due to a corroded and rusted exhaust manifold. We ended up just giving up boating and sold the boat for a huge loss.

They made it seem like the boat was in great shape and they had the service history on it. Well, we learned a lesson.

I would not let this dealership sell me a $25 bicycle much less a boat. Your much better going to a reputable dealer that gives some type of guarantee on a used boat.

I certianly hope that treating people the way we were treated and ripped off comes back to haunt them in the future.
