Complaint Review: South Coast Carriers

For those of you who are moving into or out of the Jersey City area I caution you on using South Coast Carriers for your move.

This moving company is extremely unprofessional and will essentially "low ball" the estimate they provide you in order to get your business; with the intent to charge you more once your stuff is loaded onto the moving truck. Here are the various issues I have encountered with this moving company:

South Coast Carriers provided me with an estimate for my recent move; the final price they tried to charged me was 95% more then what they quoted me. They also did not advise me of this enormous price increase until after my belongs were loaded onto the truck

South Coast Carriers are extremely unprofessional both in the service they provide and the manner in which they deal with their customers.

South Coast Carriers will create a nightmare for you when going to collect for the inferior services they provide. What they did to me:

They took my credit card information to charge me half upon pick up and the other half upon delivery. This did not happen. They did not use the credit card and called me late the night prior to delivery (Sunday night to be exact) to demand payment (cash had to be credited to their bank account in the morning) or else my stuff would not be delivered (very poor business practice down in poor taste).

South Coast Carriers are unresponsive, I have attempted to reach out to them and have gotten no response. Once they have your money you are at their mercy.

South Coast Carriers sales reps will talk to you in a demeaning and condescending manner, raise their voice to you, speak at you not with you, and overall speak to you in a unprofessional manner.

These are just a few of the issues I encountered in dealing with them and reflect my experience in using the services of this company. I have reached out to them to speak to the owner or management about how dissatisfied I am, how I have been essentially ripped off, and how poorly I was treated. They have been unresponsive to my email requests.

Again, I caution anyone who is in the process of moving into or out of the Jersey City area about this particular moving company.
