Complaint Review: SOUTH COAST CARRIERS

This company, Southcoast Carriers, INC, was sub-contracted by another company.  I will update with their name once Im done with them.  Everything went great up to the point where the guy delivering called up, and wanted to deliver at 10:30 PM!  I told him no, it can be done the next day, we cant accept a 18 wheeler at 10:30 at night.  He then threatened me that if I dont take it now, that I will have to wait 3-5 days later.  He said he had an air leak and Volvo would need his truck for that time.  I told him that im actually in the trucking biz and offered help.  His story quickly changed and he agreed to come at 7am on Sunday(fathers day) 

He shows up.  He said he cant get his truck to the house.  I advised him we have had several dozen 18 wheelers up there recently and there would be no problems.  He refused to back up the drive and proceeded to open the side doors.  As he was doing that, some young hooker came around the truck to help.  Her body parts were coming out of the top and bottom.  We quickly had to get our son inside to avoid having to see that.  Now the side doors are open.  Words cant describe what we saw.  There was not one thing in that trailer, ours or other customers stuff, that was horizontal.  I kid you not, it looked like the trailer has rolled down a mountain.  I have TONS of pictures to prove this, i wish I could post em here!

Our contract stated that if they could not get close enough to the house, that a shuttle would need to be ordered to do the rest.  Its fathers day, and one reason I hired a MOVER was so I did not have to MOVE this stuff.  I asked about the shuttle and he said its to much.  I asked him again how much a shuttle would be, and he again, said "to much" and he started to unload our items onto the road and dirt.  Boxes are torn apart, plastic tubs are cracked,  every piece of furniture was severely damaged, and he blamed it on my air compressor.  I told him that I did not pack the truck, he did the loading, and that I am not responsible for the way it was loaded.  He said to start writing it down.  I told him i have, and Im going to take pictures.  He said to stop taking pictures, but we did not stop.  I have hundreds.  I have pictures showing him stomping on other peoples  boxes to get to ours, sadly, those boxes also got crushed and destroyed.  Right in front of us, he destroyed other peoples boxes!

Now that hes just unloading 200 feet or so from the house, we needed to get our stuff inside quickly.  Now, I did have my brand new pickup truck, 2010 Ram, so we started loading that up.  The bed is scratched to all hell now.  4 hours of moving stuff from the road to garage in the pickup took its toll on my truck bed.  Shame on that driver.   

Once everything was off the list, we showed him on the contract where it shows he needs to do his inventory.  He didnt.  He was suppose to document the damages as well.  He said he will mark down 5 or 6 boxes as damaged out of nearly 200.  A few minutes later, he finished removing the padding blankets, signed the papers and just left them on the table thats out in the dirt and took off.  He was gone just like that. 

I have his DOT number and found that its only been valid since may of this year, but other sites say that he has been in business for 3.  I will be pursuing this further as well.

There were other customers that had stuff on that load as well.  I know one or two were going to Florida.  If anyone out there had boxes that said REMISS or REMI## , green mover tags and the red number 6 written on all the boxes, please reach out!!!!!  I have pictures of them crushing your boxes.
