South Plains Electric Coop Unfairly charged reconnect fees Internet

This electric company did not disclose that a deposit must be paid or you present them  with a letter of good credit from former electric company within 72 hours of connect. If it is not received, they will disconnect your service until you pay the deposit plus a reconnection fee.


There is nothing in writing on their website, nor do they provide you any confirmation via email with the rules and regulations. When questioned about it, their response is "thats how we've been doing it for years". Even when reminded that it is not stated anywhere, they would not change their mind.


In this part of Texas, you do not have any choice in electric providers. You either pay whatever they charge or you do not have service. That in itself is vey wrong.
