While trying to make Christmas flight plans to see my grandchildren, I attempted to use monies left over from previous flights and unused tickets. In total, over $440 of my hard earned cash was kept by Southwest due to "Policy". I was told I would lose part of the money because the recovery period of would expire a month before my flight. In other woprds, I had one year to use the funds, and even though I attempted to use them BEFORE the year deadline, because I wouldn't actually fly before the deadline, I forfeit my cash.

Another ticket was just 2 months old. I had made reservations for a flight to see the birth of my first granddaughter. I was unable to make the flight, and because I didn't have a cellphone to call before it departed, my funds departed with it.

I don't know what laws allow a company to steal your cash. I've used Southwest for years. They used to put the customer first.. not the case anymore.

In order to be victimized by a company one must provide leverage. In this case leverage is cash. Enjoy my $440 Southwest, because it's the last cash you'll ever get from me.
