I bought a 2003 Toyota Matrix at
their Fullerton location. A WEEK after the purchase, the left rear tire
peeled off in the middle I5 freeway around Irvine. We were lucky enough
not to get in an accident. We took the nearest exit, drove to the
nearest parking lot and took out the tools only to find that THEY
DIDNT FIT. The lug wrench included in the car was not for a TOYOTA and
was too small. We had to leave the car there for the night and come
back the next day with a wrench borrowed from my mom's Camry. We ended
up changing all four tires just to feel safe again. At least that was a
problem we could put an end to. We refilled oil after the purchase and
found out that the car consumed approximately 1.5 bottle per week.
There was no leak found under the car. The repair shop suspect the the
engine has been worn out from previous use. They also said that the
condition was inconsistent with the current mileage which meant the
mileage might have been manipulated. We couldn't afford the cost to
have the whole engine checked and repaired so we're stuck with the
problem and could only pray they it would still work the next day. This
is by far the most disappointing purchase. I let them know the problem
and they called it a misfortune and blame it on the way you drive.
Well, just want to share my SERIES of MISFORTUNE to warn everyone so
you can be prepared. If youre able to tell about the condition of the
car just by looking at it, you should be fine. Otherwise, AVOID AT ALL
COST!!!!!!
