Complaint Review: Southern Management Systems Inc. SMS Collects

We contacted Southern Management Systems on a Debt that had not been correctly validated. The amounts is anyway more than it ever could been as the bill had been paid and to my knowledge we left on good terms with balisands. Although i felt i should not of paid there was a bill for 1800.00 Reported by the credit beauros and i wanted to pay it off instead of carry this balance as it is damaging the posibilites of buying a house. I contacted them with a payoff of less than the amount as to my knowledge there is no way this number could be the actual number. They sent an agreement and my husband called in to pay the debt.

On 12/18/2007 my husband contacted Robert Weaver to pay it off and had a couple of questions. He asked Robert Weaver a few questions and Robert insulted him, disrespected him, and would not allow him to talk. He was making the payment and Robert Weaver was unethical and did everything in his power to not allow him to talk and told him to pay the full amount cursed him out and hung up. He tried calling back and the lady answering would not transfer or allow him to talk to upper management so he was at a dead end as he could not get though.

Never Pay a Bill with them as they Lie and Don't follow through with there promises.
There has been a bbb, Ftc, complaint filed and also we are contacting the state in reference to multiple complaints filed with the BBB and trying to get the collections license revoked with others that have filed complaints. There is an ethical way to do business and a non-ethical way.
