I was contacted by a recruiter at SRT who called herself "Angela" about 5 times for phone interviews.

The last time this recruiter called me she informed me that my original CDL license had been suspended in the state of Texas..  I moved to Ohio from Texas in April, 2008, where I obtained my Ohio CDL.

There is no reason on earth why my license should be suspended as I have no tickets, or violations on any of my past licenses.

As soon as I quit a job, I immediately send for my "DAC" report in order to prevent any false information from being put on my license/work history.  Even though I told this woman that I have a copy of my DAC, she still insisted that my CDL had been suspended in Texas.  I have never had any license suspended in any state.

A word of caution to anyone who is seeking employment and cannot find any, you can request a free copy of your DAC report at 1-800-381-0645.

Because I am not able to find work, I have filed for unemployment insurance.. Please be cautious of 'phone interviews' and always accept any job offer that is given to you as it is better then seeking unemployment benefits.

As the reader can clearly see, this company is one to stay away from.  Along with making false statements, I believe they are experts at blacklisting and screwing drivers in general.

blacklisting

It would appear to me that you issue is with the state of texas and not with the carrier. If they are showing a problem with your license it may not show up on dac,Austin dps where the driving records are kept,is severely backlogged and has been making alot of reporting errors on records. If i were you,i would contact dps in texas and fix your problem there. The carrier is only going to go by the information it recieves from its sources and if there is any discrepancy,it is from the reporting agency, not the carrier. As far as the"blacklisting"myth,if you are a sub standard employee, your going to get a bad grade like any other job.Drivers have not been the best they can can be lately for a lot of reasons, pay and respect being the two biggest in my opinion.Sometimes out of frustration and anger,we say and act on issues that have a profound effect on our lives and mean nothing to others, thus causing what a company would consider an"aggresive act" which could be construed as a "blacklisting".On the other hand,if most drivers would just stick to the job and when issues occur, handle them with the respect you would demand in kind.Ihave found that any issue i had with a carrier could be resolved quickly by being respectful and freindly when communicating my greivance.Be assertive, but polite, you may find you will get a lot of doors opened that way.As far as srt goes,it was a great place for me to work at.The pay was good and the bennefits above par.they do demand a lot from their drivers, but if you can cut it,you will do well there.I am going to go back to work for them again after a brief hiatus at the house.Lets face it,every job has good points and bad if we look for them, but ask yourself,am i really doing all i can to make my job good for me?With a possitive attitude,i think a lot of drivers would be surprised at how well they actually  are doing.
