Southtrust Bank Fee Charges Rip Off Internet
I have been a Southtrust customer for 8 years. Southtrust is stealing our money by processing checks and check card items using the highest amount first. This causes NSF/Overdraft charges that in most cases could be avoided if they would process in the order the items happen.
Also, Southtrust has implemented a change and charge NSF/Overdraft fees if the "Available Balance", goes negative. This causes an excessive amount of fees.
I have contacted the online customer service and the branch office in my area only to find that they are rude and insensitive to customer needs.

Just a little info for you... The reason the highest amounts post first is that those are typically the IMPORTANT ones... If they would post the low amounts first, that might cause one of the large checks you wrote to bounce. What would you do if that was your mortgage check???? If you bounce a mortgage check 6 or more times, your house might be foreclosed on... IT IS NOT THE BANK'S FAULT THAT YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR FINANCES STRAIGHT.
WHY would you use money you DON'T HAVE??? Have you ever heard of OVERDRAFT PROTECTION????
USE A CHECK REGISTER AND QUIT SPENDING MONEY YOU DON'T HAVE!

I work for Wachovia who just bought out Southtrust and we process our checks in the order they come in. The available balance is how much you have in your account, and if it goes negative, of course they will charge you an NSF fee. The money isn't there. And now that Check 21 is in place, the check is processed immediately.
