Our home warranty company sent this company to our house to do some repairs. There was a blown capacitor in our pool pump that needed to be replaced. The original part was a 35uf 370VAC, they replaced it with a 25uf 370VAC. Surprise, surprise, 2 weeks later, it blew.

Not only did they put the wrong part in our pool pump, the "new" part they installed was rusted and looked like they pulled it from a pump that had been used for a long, long time.

I told the home warranty company not to send them back.

completely unprofessional staff, they have been over to the house 5 (read again - FIVE times) to fix a simple pool pump, the pool is turning green 2 weeks later and still the pump is not fixed, a new pump cost me $350 now that my pool has turned green because of thier lack of abilities, i was forced to drain my pool and acid wash the thing at a cost of $900 and hired a new company to replace the pump. Stay away from these people, do not let them waste your time.

I didn't get to choose this Company for repair due to my home warranty Co. National Fidelity.
The appointment was on time, but that was the end of customer service.
First of all I usually handle these types of things, since I am the one who has technical experience of all kinds but I also have to work for a living, so I made the appointment with the service company assigned by the Home Warranty Company knowing full well my wife could handle it telling her to call me with any questions or issues.
Upon the technicians arrival he made contact with my wife at the front door and was told "I will meet you at the gate" when she arrived at the gate he was no where to be seen so when she verbalized "where did you go handsome" he appeared saying in an demeaning tone "well I had to geet my tools"
My wife proceeded to walk the technician back to the pool equipment area making casual conversation along the way.
She began to try and give the technician some information regarding the issue we were having stating how her husband is a technician as well and how I already diagnosed the pool pump motor and was certain the motor was bad.
She left him with the equipment to diagnose the problem and went to check the mail, upon her return to check on how it was going the technician had already begun to remove the bad motor.
My wife being a people person tried to make light of the situation saying to the tech. "Silly Motor hee hee hee" (she chuckled) and with a very nasty mean tone the man replied "Oh you tink diz iz funny" to which she replied "no I don't think this is funny at all since my pool hasn't been clean for three days" she then turned and left the tech to complete his work and went into the house feeling so uncomfortable she locked the door behind her.
When the technician completed the replacement of the motor he knocked on the back door and my wife stepped outside and followed the man back to the equipment, once there the technician told my wife " all dis equipment iz  wrong" she looked at him with a puzzled look on her face and said "what are you talking about?" and he replied with a wave over the equipment of his hand saying "iz all wrong" to which she replied " well this is the way it was when we bought the home"  and he replied with such a heavy Hispanic dialect that she could not understand what he was saying, that's when she replied "you may as well be speaking Greek to me and I can not understand you"
That's when the technician tried to help her understand by placing his hand on the two pipes coming from the roof from the solar panels, tapping at the pipes he replied "dis iz two different Company's so the solar Company did eet wrong I cant get to da modor.
She asked the technician at this point "are you telling me that you want me to remove all this equipment and do all over again so its easier for you to get to the motor?" and he replied with a large grin "yes" she then looked at him and replied sarcastically "i'll get right on that"  and she began to walk away when he replied "I need to geet my fee" and she said "ok."
My wife returned inside to get a check walked back outside to meet the technician with the payment, as she was giving the check to the man she asked "am I going to get a receipt or something?" to which he replied " I have to go to my truck and write it" she told him "ok I will meet you at the front door"
After a few minutes he appeared at the door and my wife opened the door asking if that was her receipt, he replied "yes and handed it to her and she closed the door.
So what am I saying here? This Company's representative was rude mean and unhappy sure made my wife very uncomfortable I hope in the future they hire people who can handle the stress of working in the "service" industry.

    The worst pool service ever!

Forced into using this company through AHS. Something broke in the plumbing during the freeze and after 4 attempts, it is still not fixed.

After another call to AHS, I insisted another provider be sent to fix the problem.

    DO NOT USE!!

Never hire this company, ever !!! The staff is rude on the phone. The technicians are inexperienced and use excuses instead of trying to solve the problem. Check with your home warranty company before purchasing and make sure this is not the company that would repair your pool.

As with most my first experience was due to Home Warranty.  Pump motor went out and Southwest was contacted.  Took about a week before pump was replaced which sucked but Oh well such is life.  My major problem with Southwest came later.
Roughly 6 months since the pump was replaced it began not turning on in high speed but worked every time in low.  Because Southwest put a sticker on my equipment I figured I would just call them direct.  Not really concerned with warranty just thought I could speed up the process of fixing problem.  With the Home Insurance I have to pay $50+ no matter what so I called Southwest.  Dispatch wasn't really rude but just didn't understand and refused to deal with me directly referring me to go through Insurance.  I said "Why put your sticker on my equipment if you won't service me."
Frustrated I decided to check the wiring to the motor myself as the panel wiring was good and solinoid checked out.  Unbolted entire motor from pump and the first revelation was found, an O-ring that is supposed to go on to keep a bushing aligned, underneath the motor and not on the bushing.  Unscrewed electrical cover to find that the ground wire was not connected and high speed wire loose.  After tightening all is perfect.  I hate doing other peoples jobs!
This problem doesn't shock me as the installer of the motor 6 months ago put the motor in as it was getting dark out.  Even with a flashlight not easy.  I believe Southwest is a poor company because they don't train well enough and with the Insurance business they don't have much care in customer service.  As long as the problem is fixed for 30-60 days the next call equals money.  Hopefully management will work on issues, otherwise homeowners like myself will keep requesting alternatives to them and they will actually have to do quality work to stay in business.

I dealt with Southwest Pool and Spa Repair through American Home Shield (AHS), my warranty service.  The service man (Ratillio Chavez) who handled my filter/pump would never let me know he was on site; and when I asked him to knock on the door when he was finished, he never did so I was always in the dark with what he was doing which is unprofessional and rude. He also never looked at the entire filter/pump . . . only the area that I thought had a problem.  On one occasion, my neighbor's dog was barking on the other side of our wall and he took WD-40 and sprayed it on the dog rather than letting me know that the dog was bothering him.  He is rude, unprofessional and I highly recommend to NEVER have him handle your pool.  I told AHS to note in my contract to delete Southwest Pool as a service provide for my pool.

BAD EXTREMELY BAD.  They always say you don't have to be there when they come to fix the problem.  Don't believe them!  They don't know what they are doing.  The girl that answers the phone is very rude and not professional.  The scheduled time was between 8 and 12 am and then the tech ( that can hardly speak English calls and says he will be there between 12 and 2 ) The Warranty Company will send you another company. Do not bother with them!  Last year they said they fixed my spa heater and a month later the same problem... Incompetent and rude people. They don't even deserve one star rating!!!
