Southwest Vacations has been offering credit toward future travel for all vacations effected by COVID-19, but only for trips with travel between mid-March and July 31. In addition to giving 125% back for ground reservations (hotel, transportation, etc), and flight credits, they're also including funds to reimburse trip insurance (if it was purchased with the original reservation). Our trip was supposed to start the first week of August, so we do not qualify for the 125% back.

We also do not receive reimbursement for the trip insurance purchased. There are NO FLIGHTS to/from our vacation location until at least November. Our hotel IS NOT OPEN until at least November, as well. How can they decide which dates this pandemic affects travelers? Why am I forfeiting my trip insurance when others are being reimbursed for it for voluntarily cancelling their trips (yet mine is literally impossible in terms of airline and hotel) Why does everyone else with trips nearly 20 weeks prior to ours get 125% back while I lose $500?
