I purchased an after market, extended warranty, when I purchased my used Jeep Wrangler. The company this warranty is from is Southwestre/First Automotive and cost $2200 for an additional 5 years and 60,000 miles. Well at 80,000 miles (well within the warranty) my Jeep suffered catastrophic engine failure. Well I was pretty happy with myself for purchasing the additional warranty as the price for a new engine is $7500. Southwestre sent an adjustor to the shop and deemed my engine failure was due to a non lubricated part that broke off into the block and the warranty will not cover this! It states in the fine print that the engine block is covered only if the failure occurs from a lubricated part. They said they are not open to the public and I needed to call corporate in Dallas (which i've done numerous times to no avail). Why not open to the public, but yet have "visitor" parking right in front of their company signs!!?? My attorney is requesting a letter with the reason behind my claims denial - to which I've been unsuccessful in obtaining...
