Southwood Properties International students ripped by local business Ripoff Springfield Missouri
South wood properties is a ripoff, specially with international students please do not become a victim by renting or checking into their properties they will make you pay 1000's of dollars in advance deposit calling you international and then they will not give your money back or a large part of it back specially for international students the school (missouri state university) will not do anything about it. I have 7 other people who can testify against this injustice. Thank you do not let them rob your money.

This gentleman who filed this report received a refund of 60% of their deposit upon vacating. The only funds kept were for cleaning and trash removal of pornagraphic drawings and such. There were a lot of residents for a small 2 bedroom apartment and this made scuffs and scratches on the wood and walls almost unavoidable.
Our company did not keep 1 dime more than we spent to outside contractors to recondition the apartment to the level it was in when this fellow rented it and good enough condition for someone else to consider renting the apartment. The painting, cleaning and trash removal was accomplished for less than $370. With today's prices, we felt this charge was very fair.
Lastly, these residents agreed to restore the apartment to the condition it was in at move-in time. This provision is written into the Lease Agreement. If they did not agree to these terms, then why did they sign the Lease and move in?
