I had just moved to a new state and was having financial problems, and needed some quick cash to get caught up. I don't have the greatest credit due to student loans and such, and having my car titled in a different state than I am currently living in has posed a huge problem in finding a place that will do a title loan. Weeks of searching I find Title Loan America who tell me that it is not a problem because they are an online lender so I think FINALLY!

I did everything they asked of me until it came time for me to send off my title and power of attorney, they call me back and tell me that the state my car is titled in requires the power of attorney to be notarized. I drove to 9 different bank/branches, called multiple places trying to find a notary but since they did not provide me with a form with a section specified for notarization no one would do it.

I called the rep who was assigned to my case and told him about the whole ordeal and told me to just find someone who would do it. I then asked if they had a more approprate form, so that a notary would stamp the document. He began yelling at me telling me that there is no reason a notary would not simply stamp their seal next to my name when I signed the document. Then proceded to inform me that other states have had no problem having the same document notarized. I told the rep the reason my bank would not notarize the form a second time and he simply hung up on me.

I have tried communicating with this particular "Customer Service Represenative" via e-mail and I have had no response to anything I've sent. I cannot call to pester now either, since now my phone has been turned off. After this first started 3 weeks ago I no longer wish to do business with them. Out of curiousity I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau and they are rated F. They have had 11 complaints just this year! I should have done my homework on this company before sending them personal information, thankfully I never sent them my car title. Lesson learned.
