To keep things simple and honest I do have to say that Soyo was willing to work with me, but on their terms. I bought the Soyo Dragon Ultra platinum motherboard, about 8 months ago or so. Since the installation of the board, and using the on board sound card. My PC has been crashing every time I played music or video on my system, to the point that I could not even listen to music on my PC. I contacted Soyo immediately upon installation and they blamed the OS and Video Drivers. I updated all the drivers I could, however the problem persisted. With no were else to go I would often check different options as I had time. During my search, I was once again directed to the Soyo web site were I found they identified a problem with the onboard sound card. I inquired with their tech support, as the "New" drivers and Bios upgrades were presenting some difficulty for me. They were helpful, I flashed the new bios installed new board and audio drivers. The problem remained, after being feed up in dealing with this, I purchased a separate sound card, installed it and have not had a problem with my PC crashing at all. Major change from my normal routine. I informed Soyo support about this and asked that they refund to cost of the sound card since the on board unit seems to have never worked. They indicated I would have to send the motherboard back and they would repair or replace it. I require my PC for work and school and would have a hard time dealing with out it for any considerable length of time. I informed them their option did not work for me, but I would be happy to return the board if they would send me one to keep the down time down, never heard from them again. I would have been more than happy to place a motherboard on a credit card if they were afraid I was not going to send the original board in. In the past, I have never used the onboard cards, but this board came highly recommended, not anymore! If you have trouble with your Soyo Board locking up change the sound card and disable the on board unit. I feel that companies should not be able to sell items that are not fully functional, leaving it up to the consumer to fund their repairs and research.
