I purchased a Soyo P4I845PE Barebones Box from Tiger Direct in August of 2004. There was a total of $100 in rebates from Soyo Group, and another $40 from Tiger Direct. This was my first purchase with Tiger Direct (and likely my last), so I drank the Kool-Aid and BELIEVED that I was getting a barebones system for $39.99. After several weeks went by, I began to hound Tiger Direct for the status of my rebate...especially after discovering this site (unfortunately, after the fact). I eventually got my $40 from them, so I can't complain too much.

My experience with Soyo, however, has been a completely different story. After waiting 12-14 weeks after the postmark date for this offer (which is nuts), I go to the verifyrebate.com site, and I finally see that my rebates were not only received, but approved!! They were approved on November 1, so the assumption was that I would receive these rebates at some point. I waited until the middle of this month to contact them about the status of my rebate, and after 4 e-mails and 3 phone calls (which were automated) with no response, I felt compelled share my beef with the rest of you disappointed customers.

I am absolutely amazed that this company is still around.

So - We'll see what happens, likely nothing. I read that there are potential class action suits, so this could get interesting.

Tiger Direct steps up After e-mailing Soyo 1,000 times

After e-mailing Soyo 1,000 times, and being told by them that my checks had been mailed, I finally called Tiger Direct, and they credited my account $100. I got my money, and I have the impression that Tiger Direct receives these complaints about Soyo often.
