Complaint Review: Spa's And Such 4 U

Spa's And Such 4 U Sold us a used hottub that they knew would leak and for the money and trade in I should have gotten a new model that was the same price as the used model. Salina Kansas

Chuck the owner of the spa and such took a deposit for a hot tub at the garden show in the spring and we added a another $1000 to the deposit plus trades a gun worth $400 that would allow us a low dollar spa.

He then told us that we could only have a used spa. The first one he sent dials were broken off and we asked for another one. Which he had at his wearhouse in the weather elements. He delivered this one to our address in replacement of the otherone.

At the time of purchase he said he could install the tub. This included electricity. We ended up getting an electrician to put in a new panel and run a 220 line to the patio.

Costing us $1000 more. I called Chuck to hook up the tub and he said they would be right over. The did not show up for a week or so.

My husband was discussed and finally figured out how to hook up the tub to the 220 and fill the tub from the internet. The tub then after 3 weeks started to leak. We called Chuck and it took over two weeks for a service man to even come by and look at the tub. He fixed two leaks on the jets.

The tub has a foam bottom and to get to the leaks you have to dig out the foam. And they charged us for the leaks. This nightmare of leaks continued and finally the last two leaks to sprout I called a competitor who said that one to tubing was rottening from age and that the tub needed the foam replaced for structure or the tub would cave in from the weight of water.

He refused to fix the tub and said to really fix the tub it would cost over $500 to fix all the tubing and refill the foam. I contacted Chuck at Spas and such 4 U, who said we could trade out the tub. In two days when I called to see where we were on the trade out the secretary acted all snotty and said we need to have the account cought up to do anymore business.

In the bigging of this tub situation I also contracted to have Chuck dig out a spot by our drive way to put gravel to extend the drive way. He said he would call when he was to be their with the gravel and backhoe. He showed up on a Sat when we were out to town and set the gravel drive way with not plastic down to guard against the weeds.

I was explicit about the plastic and had bought the plasitic but because of now warning about his arrival I was not their to lay the plasic before the gravel. Now we have weed patch in gravel. He says I owe for the drive way and I refuse to pay till he gets the tub fixed and the weeds fixed.

He is also being sued by a hot tub company for none payment. All I want is a new hottub and I will pay the $400 I owe him to get him out of our lives.

i belive there are several facts left out that make this seem severly one sided.

by her own statement the customer bought a used product but feels that she is owed a new product becouse it broke? thats like telling a car dealer he owes you a new car becouse the used one you purchsed stoped running.

if she did indeed purchase a used spa it would have been in a as is situation wich we disceraged people from doing to avoid these types of issues however some people are determined to be penny wise and dollar foolish and think they can save a few bucks then complain when it isnt what they really wanted.

of the three thousand spas we sold over the course of ten years we told each and every customer the exact same thing 1. we will deliver it to your flat level location as long as the spa will fit without any obsticals. 2. we will hook up your EXISTING elctrical supply to our unit.

this customer is complaining that it cost her money to have a electrical service installed for the hot tub she purchased!!! becouse SHE DID NOT HAVE ANY electrical service for a spa and thinks that that is part of the cost that equals her getting a new spa lets all run to the car dealer tell them they owe us a new car becouse we have to put gas in the old one!!!

she also says that we did not put plastic under a gravel driveway, but then states that we would not provide the service to her becouse she had an account ballanceim cunfesed we did it poorley but we didnt do it????

i have to say i still cary an A+ rating with the BBB as well as a five star rating on angies list

i am starting to wonder if we even actually are the company that did or did not service this customer as confused as she seems to be with the facts it may have been someone else.
