Review from Kathleen C. Chicago, IL

7/7/2011
Having not had a massage in a long time, I was really looking forward to my visit so Spa Forever.  While the visit was enjoyable, I think there are some kinks that can be worked out to make this spot more pleasant.

First of all, making an appointment was a nightmare - because no one answered the phone the first four times that I called.  I almost gave up, but tried one last time, and thankfully, they answered.  Making an appointment was easy, but I wasn't thrilled about having to leave a credit card number for the appointment.  I have been to a number of different spas and I would say this is a bit unusual (maybe this makes more sense if I had signed up for an entire day of services or something).

I was able to make an appointment a few weeks out, which was fine (though, they were apparently really booked in general - my next option was September!).

The woman at the reception () gave me a multi-page document to fill out before my massage.  This, I suppose is normal, but it was LONG and had really odd questions on it that I think were unnecessary.

On to the massage...I got to pick an oil, which was sort of a waste as they didn't really use it aside from a quick aromatherapy whiff at the beginning of my massage.  Then, the woman who gave me my massage asked if I had any problem areas...why yes, I did....my neck and lower back.  Typically when asked these sorts of questions, the therapist will focus at least a little energy on these areas (or why ask?).  However, in this case, I almost got no attention on my lower back, and I would say my neck massage was minimal as well.  That's not to say it wasn't a good massage - because it was - I just don't understand the question if they are just going to do their typical massage anyway.
