On the way home last night I stopped at the AMPM (on the corner of sierra college and douglas). As soon as I got out of the car I was approached by two men trying to sell me speakers. They said they were valued at $1000 dollars a piece but that they already had extra speakers and only wanted to keep two. They also showed me an invoice which listed the speakers at $1000. They asked for 800 at first but I told them I couldnt afford it, then they asked me how much I would pay and I said maybe 300 - the asked me for 400 and I settled on that thinking I was getting a great deal on some good speakers..

As soon as I go home I learned about the ongoing scam thanks to the internet and needless to say the sound quality is about as good as the stereo on my alarm clock... They were driving a white toyota minivan (later model). Both men were caucasian, one being 5'10" with long hair, the other was maybe 6 feet tall and looked a little more clean cut. They were both in their early twenties.

I have tried contacting the manufacturer as I am entitled to a full refund but the line is disconnected and I was unable to find any more information on these guys. There should be a local distributor but I have no idea where to look. If anyone has any leads on how to get my money back please post it here at the rip-off report as a consumer comment.
