Special Touch Homecare Services employee stole a $88.00 money order from my 76 year old roomate/friend.They won't reimburse the money. Brooklyn, New York
My 76 year old roomate was assigned a home health aide from Special Touch Homecare Services about four months ago. We had a unused money order for $88.00 lying on our kitchen table. When it came time for us to use the money order, it had vanished into thin air.
We called Special Touch and made a complaint. I was told that they would do an investigation and look into the matter. Noone made any effort to call or stop by to speak with us about the matter. Finally, after 3 months of a lack of a response, I was told that it was my problem to deal with this matter. So much for the big investigation into the matter.
They told me to call the number on the back of the money order reciept to find out who cashed it. Well, I can't do that since the reciept is attached to the money order until it is used. I even asked our local councilman James Oddo's Office to look into the matter.
Constance, who inquired about the matter on our behalf, never even got so much as a callback from Special Touch. So now I have an attorney looking into the matter as well. I am outraged at these people for thinking that they can get away with theft outright. They have a Special Touch alright, the like to touch other peoples money.
