I was contacted by a representative of Spectra Financial on January 29, 2005 informing me that I qualifed for a Mastercard which required me to only pay $249.00 for a $2,000 limit guaranteed. My checking account was debited on Januaray 29, 2005. I was told that I did not have to open a bank account, add any money to the card to use it and that it was not a secured mastercard. I could get $2,000 off of it as soon as I got it. To this date, May 11, 2005 I still have not received my card, I did, however, receive a box with a book in it telling me how I can repair my credit. This is not what was told to me. I have called numerous times to this company and have been given many many different explanations.

Now the latest explanation is that I am getting a secured card and must put money on it in order to use it. They are sending me out an application to sign and then they will send me the card, but before I use it, I need to put the amount of money on it that I want my limit to be. This is not what I was told and would not have given my information had I been told this. Anyone out there who is contemplating using Spectra, please do not -- they are definitely RIP-OFF Artists. What can we do about this? Someboy help us please.
