Spectra Financial Benefits ripoff fraud dishonest Champlain New York
I need to warn everyone about this company. This company called me on Feb. 18, 2005 and offered me an unsecured credit card with a limit of $2,000 and 0% interest for 3 years. Yes, it did sound too good to be true so I asked them what was the catch. They assured me it was a sound offer and all I had to do was allow them to debit my checking account for $249.00.
I agreed for them to do that on Feb. 21. They told me I'd receive the credit card in no more than 25 business days. I asked them why so long and they said they have to say 25 days but I'll get it much sooner since it goes out by regular mail. I don't have the best credit so I thought this was a super deal.
In the middle of March I called to see where my credit card was. They told me they were running 2 weeks behind the 25 day mark. They assured me the card was coming. I've been calling daily since April 10th only to get a voicemail. I've left a message each time but no one calls me back.
Finally on April 18th I receive something from them. To my surprise, NO CREDIT CARD. It was a mesely few broshures and a paper wanting me to send in $49.95 for a cash mastercard that plainly stated it is not a credit card! All I want now is my money back! I'm moving on to the next step to file a fraud complaint. Beware of this company. They are a complete rip-off and a liar!
