The company that I would like to file a complaint on is:
Speedmark Information Services
Address: 8701 New Trails Drive, Suite 150
The Woodlands, TX 77381
Phone: 877.363.3945 or 281.363.3945

I responded to an ad that schedule Roger Gurgilo posted on Speedmarks' website. The email that he sent states that: Pay is $20.00 per location. I did 8 locations. I sent and email 2-3 weeks later, as I normally do for companies that I have never worked for to ask about when they pay/ process checks. I sent Roger, the scheduler, several emails and he only returned one call which was this past Tuesday when I left him an urgent message and called several others to find out the name of his supervisor.

After speaking to Roger on the afternoon of Tuesday July 25th, 2006 for about 30-45 minutes, I was informed that for location that I was refused that I would only receive $2 for each location, explaining the reason for my $16 check. This is the first time that I am hearing this, this was not stated in the advertising emails that were sent out nor was it in the emails that I received in any of the emails that Roger sent to me in correspondence.

The guy he told me to call for training. (I don't have his name but I can get you his phone number on the 29th off my cell phone bill) He didn't state this in training or when I called to report to him that the locations I went to told me that I couldn't complete the survey or when I told him that 3 of the locations told me that I could call or come back on Monday Wednesday and they would allow me to do so. (The survey was 2 pages long and the letter of authorization was in color and I needed 1 per store. I spent more in gas, paper and ink than they paid me.

The emails he sent states Pay is $20.00 per location, (I have them if you need to see them) this does not state per completed survey. I have done several types of mystery shopping including revealed and unrevealed shops and have been paid if the locations were non existent or not open.

Roger asked me what I think would be a reasonable payment for my services I told that amount that I was offered. He informed me that they (he and the company) didn't get paid for the surveys that I submitted because they were refused. I informed him that there was nothing stated in the information that he sent me stating that I would not be paid in the event that it was refused or canceled. I do not feel that I should have to settle for a payment of a different amount when I have in writing the amount that I was offered.

I can honestly state that I wouldn't have considered doing these locations had I known that the optional pay rate of $20/location would be decreased to $2/location depending on the Store manage.

I have sent him and his supervisor emails and I have yet to get a response, I requested a pay differential from what I received compared to what I was Quoted that I would receive. He stated that it is very unusual that clients refuse. Nothing was mentioned to me about a pay differential.

I would like to file a complaint against this company for false advertising, and to inform others in hopes that no one else gets caught up in there scams. They didn't know the places were closed until I drove to them, it is not my fault that the managers refused there survey, I should have been properly told there policies, or received them in writing or they should have paid me what I was offered.
