Speedway Flooring - Told me "Piss on You!" - Daytona Beach Florida
I bought tile from this store. I did my own measurements after they failed to show up for the appointment to measure. When the job was done there was over $600 of leftover materials and the installation work was awful. I went back to the store to pay for the labor and brought the extra supplies to ask why I had so much left over. The owner, Barbara who figured up how much tile to order blamed me for bad mesurements but the measurments I gave her were right on. Then, she said that the labor for the job would be $275 more than she quoted me. I got up and walked out of the store and she said,"Piss on you" as I walked out the door.
This is the second job they have done for me. The first time Barbara's son did the measurments and tile order and both times I had a considerable amount of tile left over. I believe that they do this on purpose knowing that special order items are not returnable.

Mr. P**** had us order tile based on his specifications and labor was never involved as he wanted to do this project himself.
He told me that he wanted a 6" band of stone and glass mosaics for shower and this is how we figured materials.
When he received his products he signed for them as in good condition. He then proceeded to try the installation himself and decided he did not know what he was doing. He changed the size of mosaic band from 6" to 3" band and this is why he has leftover material.
Mr. P**** brought back the special order no refund product and wants Speedway Flooring to refund material money and give to contractor for labor. We explained to him that our policy is very clear in our store and on paperwork that his order was special order and no refunds to be made on special order products. Materials are separate from labor as we do not collect labor from customer. We reccommend contractors to our customers and if they are contracted they are to pay labor directly to contractor. He wants to pay only 515.00 for a job that was quoted to him for 925.00.
Mr. P**** is complaining about the quality of installation, however will not let us in home to see what his complaints are. I told him that on tuesday may 28th we would have contractor and Robert (the other owner of this company) come inspect job and fix what he is complaining about. However, he will not let us come. I do have pictures and text of this completed job from Mr. P**** saying the job is complete and he was very happy with install. We recieved this picture text on May 18, 2013.
Mr. P**** stated that he overspent on some home projects and was out of money and asked us to charge labor on credit card and we refused as we do not collect labor through speedway flooring. He has done business with us in the past and nothing has changed since the first time we did business. He knows he owes labor to contractor.
As far as comment he says I said to "Piss Off" this is not true. I told him to take his materials with him as they belonged to him and that no refund would be made.
I did offer and in store credit to him but told him we would not be paying any labor. If he wants us to look at job and fix "so called problems" he will need to let us in. We assume by him not allowing us to see what he is complaining about that this is a fictional complaint and that he is trying to find a way to beat us out of money the same as he beats money out of his customers at the travel agency he owns. We have an A+ rating at better business bureau and his company does not. This is why he did not generate this complaint though BBB.
I am not afraid to put my real name on this form as he was.
It's really a shame that there are websites on the internet who will not investigate anything but allow a person to try and ruin your reputation and I am having my lawyer check into suing this website for defamation of character and we are definately suing Mr. P**** for defamation of character.
