Sphynx express Krystal Knuth Took away the cat she promised us Macomb Illinois
I have never written a report a negative report about anyone before but unfortunately I had the most awful, heartbreaking experience with Krystal Knuth that I'm hoping this may help other's dodge a heartbreak and think twice before buying from sphynx express.
It all started when my beloved sphynx passed away the day before Halloween. My husband discussed heave forbide the day ever come we would be geting another one asap. I love the breed and the thought of having a new baby warmed my heart in a time of sadness. My cat passed away from HCM according to the autopsy report and on top of that suffered from feline herpes which cused him to have many health issue and secondary side effects including diarrhea. we have a new 7 month old baby that I couldnt have another sick cat and wanted to avoid it at all cost.
I contacted Krystal and explained the entire situation and asked many relevent questions. I stressed our biggest concern was to not have a sick cat. After emails and a phone conversations we decided that we really wanted a litte girl that was posted on her site. We payed her the deposit via paypal and I went out and bought the new kitty new toys, litter box and a Christmas outfit to wear for our family pictures. I told her how excited I was and we arranged pick up plans and she said she was working on baths and deworming.
I was so happy to see she put 'reserved' next to the kitty and that she was going to be ours. I contacted Krystal again later that day explaining the autopsy report concluded my cat passed from HCM and asked her if she ever had any cats with this condition. She replied no, not that she is aware of. Suddenly, 2 days later I received an email saying my deposit was being refunded, she didnt feel I was ready for another cat, "it was too soon".
I was shocked and so heartbroken. My husband called her to find out what was going on and checked the website...the cat was no longer on it. Strange? Did she sell it to someone else? She didnt respond to his call so he emailed her. Her response was cold, "I emailed your wife, she knows. I'm not the breeder for you" I emailed her and told her I was shocked at the way the situation was handled, it was very insensitive and unprofessional. I wanted to know why the cat wasn't on the site? She didn't seem to care about anything other than that I was going to be exposing the horrible experience I had with her.
She called me revengful, accussed me of trying to 'ruin' her and begged me to not tell people. She even said it isn't her fault that I went out and bought new stuff for the baby. "Once again, you jumped into a purchase" was her response. Never once did she offer to call and talk to me about her concerns before her decision. I was upfront from the beggining and she should have said NO from the start if so. I explained that she had no right dictating how a person grieves or taking a cat back from us. I essentially lost 2 cats in one week. By the time the kitten would have been ours 3 weeks would have passed since the death of my first sphynx. Who is she to decide the length of time needed? I dont feel it had anything to do with that.
Something seemed very strange with the entire thing. Maybe she had sick cats, maybe she sold the other one. I will never know. What I do know is that the kitty missed out on a wonderful life and home. That Krystal did nothing to make the situation better even after I explained I 100% wanted a kitten, just not a sick one. She could of at that point offered me the cat to make things better, but she didn't and was continued to dodge explanation. She has awful business etiquite and quite honestly not much knowledge. Many of the questions I asked her she could not answer. She wiould reply, "oh, um I'm not sure. I don't really know"
So here we are stuck with new cat toys and clothes as a painful reminder of what she did. I hope and pray the kitten is safe and happy but I strongly advise people to steer clear from her. The whole situation was shady and something just seems off. Hope this helps in saving others from heartache she caused our family.

I can not and will not sit here and read negative comments about this person or her family. I have known Jamie and her husband for quite some time now and I have never known a family to be more loving and more considerate with each other or their pets. She took in a sick kitty that very few people would have done and gave him a home, food, and more love then most animals get in a lifetime three times the length of his. She is heartbroken at this time, yes, but would never try to replace him wih another pet. Never would she, nor her husband, get another kitty if they were not completely sure. All she wants is to bring another sweet kitten into their home and hearts.
I would be honored to give her family a pet (if i had one to give) for i know he/she would have the very best of homes.
If this was this breeders first complaint, I may overlook it...but it's not. And I also find it highly suspicious that the kitten is already off her site...just saying.
Anyways, please think twice before going to this breeder. And if u do, ask questions and demand aa clean bill of health (this seems to scare her off). Thank you.

Krystal, I have text message and emails with our conversations That I can upload to this site. You seemed more than happy to sell us the cat until I questioned you about HCM and deworming the cat that you were so reluctant to do. You said the you don't always do that, only sometimes and usually you can tell if a kitten has worms. The bottom line is you sold us the kitten and said it was ours. of course we went and bought new stuff! A normal person would do so!! So how dare you say you felt uncomfortable allowing a kitten in our home.
We have a beautiful home, I have experience with that breed and I'm not like your other clients that you quoted, "are crazy and Idiots" (real nice to say about people who help your business by the way). We can go back and forth but I have nothing to lose so why would I lie. You have a business and a reputation to maintain that clearly you are concerned with. This is not the only site either and people do not only use it to vent or make up lies.
I used this and other sites for the same reason I told you I would- to protect and inform other buyers!! Last, I did read you email before my husband did. He called you to talk to you cause I was upset. What you did was wrong and you were not apologetic until I said I was going to let others know so they didn't have to deal with this. You never answered where the cat was. You basically did another deal probably because it benefityou you, not the cat.
Anyone who know me or my fanily could tell you the BEST place for any animal would be in our home. We are loving, caring animals lovers. I have one rescue Great Dane and I had one sphynx who passed. Both spoiled rotten and are treated like royalty. Again, choose your words wisely And do not make it seem like you know us to pass judgment on our home. The kitty I missed out and you have yourself to blame. Anyone that would like to discuss it furthermore I halos have no problem discussing it. Thank you!

I fully understand that this person is upset. To make this simpe I didn't want to sell her a sphynx. I have the right to refuse a sell. She called me three days after her cat passed (That she got from someone else) and was asking about a kitten I had on my site. She was concerned/scared of getting another sphynx but yet just had to have one right away. I was thinking in my head I really hoped this person would change her mind and find a different breeder. But it turns out she sent me a deposit. After I had time to think about it I really didn't want to send a sphynx h*e to this family. So yes I refunded their deposit. (Same on me)
I also emailed the wife and explained why. However before the wife checked her email the husband (who I had never had any conversation with, but was the one who sent the desposit by PayPal so knew first it was refunded). Started to call me and email me when I had already emailed and explained myself. After Jamie emailed me back I responded and said how sorry I was. Yes I know she's upset and within a day they went out and bought stuff for a kitten, but that's what they wanted to do. This was a three day time span and I gave back thier money. They can find a new sphynx kitten.
This is the fist time I have refused a sale. I should have said upfront the very first phone call that I was not the breeder for her. I handled it wrong lesson learned and it won't happen ever again. I do not keep people's money. I do my very best to make everybody happy but there was no way to make this person happy without selling her a kitten when I felt uncomfortable sending a kitten home o this family.
One more this. Anybody can go on this website and say whatever they wish without having any proof. One reason is this website likes to ask business for money to make sure this sort of thing don't pop up in a google search. I can pay $149 a month so it don't. Seems wrong. But I do understand people like to have something to read or somewhere to go and post stuff when they feel they have been wronged.
I have more positive feedback then bad. And I will continue to do my very best for my sphynx kitten and new owners. Thank you for taking the time to read my side of this. Feel free to talk to me about this. Have a woundeful day!
