Sploot Vetinerary Care performs services without using written approval contracts.

This can lead to confusion and in some cases, theft. In my case, they took my 2 cats to the back for $598 bloodwork (for a roughly $3,000 estimated procedure) without my approval. I was under the impression they took the cats back as part of the initial exam.

They also had to perform 2 initial exams in a matter of days because their previous doctor left. When transferred to a new doctor, they tried to charge me again for initial exams, but ended up "waiving" them once I complained in the office.

This incident lead to a long debate with Sploot's doctor (who did the bloodwork) and their COO.

According to Sploot, they go buy written estimates only. However, they don't provide you with written approval contracts. Which means at any point in your visit, they can perform and bill you for services you didn't approve of.

This is exactly what happened when Sploot performed $598 bloodwork without written approval.
