I have a $14.85 charge on my Vanila Visa card from them, I have Never Visited their Web Site, never used their service, first time I hear of them is today. Why would thy charge my card and how would they obtain it - Is The Question!!!  Total FRAUDULENT
Called their costumer service , they were nice but couldn't assist me. Where are the Government Agencies? Why are they SLEEPING on that one? This is  S-C-A-M

* Their costumer service didn't find my name or my card number in their system and asked to have a 3way call with my financial provider on the line to better assist me. Their guy couldn't tell me HOW they will assist me if they coudnt even find my card on their files. No Doubt this is another tactic from them to Steal even more financial information from you. Be Wear!

Dear Spokeo Customer,

We received your complaint and are happy to assist in resolving this matter.

In order for a Spokeo subscription to be created, a user must click on the "Sign Up" button or perform a search and click on the "Get Full Results" button. The user would then be required to enter in a full 16 digit credit or debit card number along with the card's matching security code, cardholder name, card expiration date, card billing zip code, and enter a valid email address that becomes the username associated with the account. Once this information has been entered, the Terms of Use agreement must be checked and agreed to and then the "Purchase" button must be hit. Once these actions are completed and the information is verified as valid and matching, the user must then fill out a brief survey and set an account password to begin using the subscription. Additionally, we provide detailed information regarding exactly how much, and how often a person will be billed on our payment page, as well as in the disclaimer which has to be agreed to before the purchase is processed. This information is also included in the confirmation receipt sent immediately after payment, as well as in our Terms of Use. Sounds like your card number was gotten by someone else... either stolen before or after you got the card. If you bought the "Vanilla visa" at the store did you make sure the back numbers weren't scratched off?

I'm not sure how it's SPOKEO's fault, they are an honest-to-God legitimate company and I've had an account with them for many years now with zero problems with billing.

But by all means, go ahead and blame whomever you want.. maybe the postman too while you're at it.
