Recently I re-located to Australia from the United Kingdom in Decemeber of 2015. I discovered Spotify several years ago and have ever since been a big user of Premium, and until now thought it a great service.  In January of this year however I began the process of trying to change regions, as Australia is half the price of the UK for Spotify Premium. £10 versus $11.99 AUD. After several hours of the playing around with Spotify "self help" setting and then Forums etc, after not being able to change the regional settings (they were greyed out) I emailed Spotify.

I recieved no response for several months. I then got on twitter and complained and emailed their CEO direct, Daniel Ek. Whilst I recieved no email from Daniel or his support team, eventually Spotify got in touch on Twitter. Their repsonse was Spotify had sent me emails and that my firewalls must be so high they could get through. Having never had this issue before on hotmail, I run MAC and dont have firewalls, I checked my email settings which are on the lowest setting possible and junk mail folder in case there was a genuine issue. There of course was no email from their customer support team. Eventually I managed atfer several Tweets to resolve the issue, which of course couldnt be done via my end, my original observation to the team. They then told me they wouldnt be refunding the difference from December when my oddessy begun, as it was policy just to refund one month!

Whist previously an advocate of Spotify in the space of a very short period of time I would suggest they have turned me into a detractor Whilst I can't change provider to Apple until my new Apple S6 arrives, I will at my earliest convenince as I feel I have been shabbily treated by a company, I once though brilliant. I now make sure whenever I am in any sort of group setting at work, dinner or sporting event I play this story to people who are unaware of the pitfalls of Spotify for those of us who have less settled lives and have worked across multiple countries for significant periods of time. A complete rip off and very dissapoitned.

Regards

David
