I purchased two custom T-shirts from Spreadshirt.com and was charged over $80 for both of them. Yes, very expensive T-shirts indeed but the Company bragged about being 'the global leader in quality'.

The shirts were received quite quickly, especially considering I'm from Canada and the Company is from the United States. Upon opening the package, not only were the T-Shirts EXTREMELY POOR quality, that could realistically be 'spit-through, but the custom printing I had ordered was wrong. Somehow the 2 t-shirts had been mixed up using information from the two different people's names the shirts were for.

I can understand honest mistakes however, the package also came with a nice card from Quality Control notifying me that my order had been checked thoroughly. Yeah, right!

Anyway, after spending a lot of time and many emails trying to have the Company rectify the problem, the only way I could actually get what I wanted was to keep the wrong T-shirts, which were basically useless, and get a 50% credit that I could use to re-order their CRAP product they screwed up on the first time. This way I would have over $120 invested in 2 correct T-shirts!

The other option was to return the wrong t-shirts for a full credit to my VISA in the amount that was charged. The problem was that they couldn't refund my VISA for any of the shipping charges, that they would limit to $7. This $7 would be refunded to me via a credit that I could use to purchase more of their CRAP PRODUCT, and thus they could then further try to profit from another order.

So by their return policy, that they claim was better than anyone else in the industry, at the end of the day, they weren't going to be out ANYTHING for making a mistake while I was out the t-shirts I ordered plus all the time I had wasted trying to correct their screw-up, plus my shipping costs!

Eventually, I basically tried to cut my losses and paid $8 to ship their product back to them, only to get a few days later, a bill from UPS for Canada Customs charges of $16.21 to cover duty to ship their CRAP PRODUCT!

So now I'm out about $24, I do not have any T-shirts, and I've wasted a good few hours trying to deal with this Company.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - unless you have a lot of time on your hands to sort out problems and you enjoy purchasing expensive, very poor quality items, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

SPREADSHIRT is delusional

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sat, July 19, 2008

I had a similar experience, I ordered one of their very expensive T-Shirts under the impression they were of "higher quality" and in reality I got some lousy quality tee with a piece of plastic melted on the front (the design), such design was not even printed in the correct place and it had noticeable wrinkles, clearly the work of amateurs and lack of quality control.

To ad insult to the injury when I e-mailed them to request a re-do, they refused to do it again for free and offered me a coupon code instead so I could place another other, yeah, right. Keep in mind they falsely advertised a 30 days return policy. I e-mailed a second time to remind them that it was their duty to recreate a product tht sucked and I should not have to pay for their ineptitude and lack of quality control. Then, I had to deal with their famous humorless and oversensitive staff, which is homogenously delusional in their belief that their T-Shirts are better quality than the competition.

I general I got the distinct impression I was dealing with a greedy company ran by delusional child-like creatures under the influence of some sort of cultist religious leader. In their mind their company could do no wrong and they would not listen to reason and kept repeating the same non-sense over and over, like robots. It remind me in fact of Apple Store employees, who have the same blind faith on their overpriced gadgets. Except Spreadshirt products are poorly manufactured and have an overall cheap feel to it. I would say, their product is not worth more that $8 per T-Shirt. Don't pay more than that or you will be dissapointed with the quality.
