When I moved to New York, I signed up with Bell Atlantic, but did not designate a long distance co. Bell arbitrarily signed me up with Sprint, and since I didn't choose them, they didn't put me on any calling plan-- thus, Sprint put me on their 'regular' plan at $.30/min... All of which would have been fine, because I switched local & long distance to MCI (so I thought) when Bell Atlantic connected my line. But MCI failed to pick up the service, because Bell Atlantic kept rejecting the change order. MCI failed to notify me, and Sprint kept billing me-- so when I got my first bill (from Bell Atlantic/Sprint, I was horrified. Needless to say, involve 3 corpoprate giants in anything, and everyone blames everyone else. None of them has been at all helpful in creditting my account for the 'random' billing-- sticking me with a huge phone bill and a headache. to make matters worse, none of them will conference each other on phone calls, making it impossible for me to resolve the dispute. Infuriating! It's been going on for over a year, and I have no recourse.
