I subscribed to the sprint/earthlink service over a year ago. It provided long distance and internet service, as well as local service in my area. The problem is that I called to have the long distance and internet service cancelled in August of 2002, and I was no longer able to make long distance calls as of that date. However, I was still being billed for the service, and after making several calls where I had to hold on for unreasonable amounts of time, I was assured that the account was settled and there was a problem on their behalf.

As of December 2002, I have received a letter from CCS, Inc., a collection agency, that I owe $69.85, and when I called them, they informed me that they could not do anything to resolve the problem and that I should contact sprint/earthlink directly--again.

When I had sprint for my local and long distance service, I was receiving and paying three(3) different bills including taxes, etc.: 1-for local service; 1-for long distance; 1-for something I never understood, so I had services terminated. Sprint is a rip-off company, and I have a friend who is having a similar problem with them--they won't stop billing her. How many others are out there going through this? Someone needs to investigate and sprint needs to return ripped-off funds. Please forward this complaint to the FCC if necessary.
