Sprint is a ripoff that overcharges, has poor customer service & terrible coverage. Kansas City, Missouri
If you are considering using Sprint PCS "service", please think again. What I thought would be a handy tool has become an expensive frustration each and every month.
Firstly, Sprint conveniently bills me for wireless web that is operational less than 50% of the time. I imagine the Sprint managers would not appreciate paying full price for a new car that only runs half of the time. The Sprint salesperson promised 3G web speed by June 1, 2002. Here it is mid-July and their touted high speed internet is still not functional.
Secondly, I recently changed my coverage area, which turned out to be an absolute nightmare. My bill suddenly jumped from $55 to $260. The nice folks at Sprint decided to cancel my current contract ($150) and start a new one, billing me twice for the first month. With the new contract, I am locked in with this terrible service for another year! Along with the area change, I can no longer access my Sprint email, address book, or calendar, since it was associated to my old number then deleted with my previous account. The so called techs cannot reassociate account details, so my email is gone for good. The response from these brainiacs is generally the same, I dunno how to do that.
Thirdly, the service is the worst I have had the displeasure to endure. I have to call nearly every month correct errors on bills. Of the 20 times I have called *2, I have never been on hold less than 8 minutes. Tonight it was 20 minutes. That is not acceptable. It is a shame communication giants can offer the worst service and support, yet charge a premium for their plans often erroneously more than the proper amount.
From the terrible experiences I, as well as many others, have had with this company, I would not recommend their service to my brother-in-law. The $150 cancellation fee is starting to look like a good option. I have had it with this phone and this company. Sprint has freely and clearly screwed me long enough.
