I had been a Sprint PCS customer since 2002. In April 2007 I decided it was time for a change. I had had a few problems with Sprint's customer service and I was offered a great deal with another carrier through Costco. Before I actually made the change, I had the Costco representative call Sprint to make sure I wasn't going to default on my contract. The rep went ahead and check and confirmed that I was okay in making the change so I did.

Now,here we are in March 2008 and I receive a call from a collection agency saying that I owe $505.00. I asked what I owe this money for, and I was refered back to Sprint. Once got a hold of Sprint (about 1 1/2 later), I was told that I had verbally agreed to another two year contract in January 2007, which is totally false. They said that it was documeted on my account's notes. I never agreed to another commitment, otherwise I would have never even considered a change a couple of months later (common sense). The Sprint supervisor that I spoke with said that she has to go by what is documented in the account notes and that my contract was broken when I made the change to a new carrier so the fees were valid.

I feel that I have been cheated by Sprint. They have no writtten commitment with my signature saying that I agreed to a new 2 year contract in January 2007. All they have is that I verbally agreed to it via a telephone conversation with a Sprint representative, which I did not! Any representative can add notes to any account without written confirmation from a customer. Something has to be done. Sprint cannot continue to get away with this!

This is one of many reasons why Sprint is the most hated wireless carrier by far...They do not want to let you out of a contract....
