Recently moved to an area just outside Chicago that, on any Sprint PCS coverage territory map, is well within the "nationwide" digital network. The problem is that neither my phone, nor my wife's, gets any reception in this area. I tried turning the phone on and off and I updated the software, but still we are in roaming 95% of the time.

So I called Sprint and spoke with Tiashia. I asked her if I can get out of my contract (ends 11/03) because of the lack of service. She told me the closest tower is 10 miles away (well within the territory), so I should have coverage.

I told her, "but I don't have coverage," to which she provided "but you are in our territory." I said, "so?," to which she retorted, "since you are in our territory, you can't get out of contract without charge." OK so this is like talking to a wall. So I gave up.

What is next? Do I sue Sprint and explain to them that when they don't provide service as stated, they are in breach of contract. Oh I am sure they some clause in their 4 point font service agreement, which says they don't have to provide service.

That aside, what is the worth of filing suit, I am pretty sure I can get out of the deal if I take it to Court, but why bother, the hassle and filing fees will eat up any gain.

So my question is this: (1) Does anybody know if Sprint is really increasing their coverage territory and making improvements as they always say?; and (2) Does anybody know if a class action suit has been filed yet? I am sure that it will at some point, but has it been done yet? Thank you.

Hey guy, call into c/c and request the cancellations dept...Sprint PCS policy states that if you move outside the calling area or are not receiving signal...you should get your cancellation fee waived usually the retention dept will work with you...
