Sprint and SprintPCS are telecommunication providers who simply WILL DO ANYTHING to prevent you from terminating service with them! My phone bills were running more than $375.00 PER MONTH-- THEY MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL one of my two lines that was no longer in use.

I repeatedly called Sprint to cancel a 2nd cell phone line that was no longer in use. Every single time I called, they told me I had to give them a PIN number tht they had made up and assigned, and I did not know what it was. On the "security question", I repeatedly gave them the correct response, but was told that it was invalid. I knew this was total BS because only moments prior to that, the EXACT SAME RESPONSE worked JUST FINE for purposes of paying my bill.

After more than 10 attempts, over a period of weeks, to cancel the service, all to no avail, I informed SPRINT that I was contacting my attorney to file suit immediately. Within seconds, the Rep from Sprint said, "Oh, I see that we misspelled it here within our system--- your security answer now works just fine."

I was next told that there would be a $200 charge to cancel the line-- when there was no contract on it. The Rep further told me that he would not cancel the phone service unless I gave him some reason that he felt was valid-- to my incredulous response that I just wanted to cancel the unused phone, he told me that "That's not good enough-- you have to give me a better reason than that!" I then told him it was due, specifically, to his rude, arrogant, antagonistic attitude, and he should put that in the system for all to see. He then told me not to cancel because, what the heck, with the $200 charge, it might as well just run on forever.

I DID NOT have a service contract on the phone, and when I challenged him to send me a copy of it, I was told that there was no paper copy I could see-- it was on their system, and that was all that counted.

I got their address to serve my lawsuit, and at that time, a supervisor came on the line (who I suspect was listening the whole time), and they told me that they would NOT Charge me the $200 after all, and in fact would give me a $100 credit.....

However, when I went on line a week later, they STILL had the unused phone on the billing system and REFUSED to CANCEL until the end of the next month... they told me I had missed the cancellation date by a few days, so tough luck.

The bottom line--- if you get ANY CHANCE to get away from SPRINT-- do it, and do it fast!! These morons WILL DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN to keep you from getting off their billing machine-- they will lie, they will make up bogus contract dates, they will tell you you can't quit their service without reasons sufficiently wonderful IN THEIR OPINION to let you stop getting billed. They are a form of financial cancer-- they just won't give up harrassing you so you have to pay them forever.

Make it easy on yourself-- DO NOT USE SPRINT as your cell phone or land line provider!!

If they have done this same thing to you, feel free to e-mail me and my attorney, who wants to file a class action law suit over this, will be happy to proceed in case I get enough initial interest from aggreived SPRINT customers.
