Spurlin Corporation Aka Spurlin Corporation General Contractors walked away with over $100,000 of a homeowners association's money, hired subcontractors to do work, never paid the sub-contractors Gulf Breeze Parkway Florida
My homeowners association in Fort Pierce, FL paid Eddie Spurlin and his son Brad a sum of over $100,000 to do electrical, stucco and painting work on 5 buildings in our resort. They hired 2 sub-contractors to do the work. When the work was some 2/3 complete the 2 sub-contractors wondered why they weren't being paid. They then stopped work, and pulled out. The Spurlins returned phonecalls for a while and said the problems would be straightened out and then stopped returning calls. The Spurlins are now nowhere to be found.

They have at least 2 websites including spurlincorporation.com and spurlin-gc.com. Regardless, if their name is Spurlin and they are bidding on a construction job anywhere in Florida, don't even consider them. In fact call the police. They are currently being sought by the FL State Attorney General's Office, The St Lucie County Sheriff (772)462-3205 and the Fort Pierce Police Department (772)461-3820. The son Brad is rumored to be driving around in a Hum Vee paid for with our money. He shouldn't be hard to spot. There is at least one other Rip-Off report dated May 2003 on these same people.

Hired Spurlin Construction to repair house after Hurricane Ivan. The work was awful and they stole fifty thousand dollars from us. Have not been able to recover a cent from them either. Filed a claim with the Florida Construction Board, but have not been able to even get a review with them after 2 years. Extremely frustrating.

I read that Eddie Lee Spurlin was charged in Santa Rosa County, FL with larceny. He apparently skipped town and is rumored to be now operating fraudulently in Lexington, KY
