Complaint Review: Spy Tec Inc

In October, 2014, I purchased a video camera concealed in a clock.  This is the Aetos 400W. 

First, the product:  It is very expensive for what it is and does.  $250 for this tiny plastic item.  The screenshots on their web page certainly did not come from the camera I received as this one is grainy and colorless in good light and very limited in visability in the night vision mode.  Flimsy and hard to configure.  Definitely, the descriptions and sales chatter on the web page make this camera into a good performer but the actuality is the opposite.  My business experience with the chinese made surveillance cams is that this unit didn't cost Spytec very much but they sure do mark it up.  Software is not available for download unless you can manage to get in contact with their tech support.

Second, suppoirt:  They'd actually be better off not having any tech support at all as opposed to having such dismal tech support.  They refused to talk with me on the phone.  Instead, it's "Send us an email and we'll get back to you."  Then, their response to my issue was pretty much that I'm on my own.

Overall, I feel ripped off.  Overpriced product, doesn't do what the website indicates it will and useless support.
