I called the spy zone to do a bug sweep in my home. They wanted $9,000 to be wired to their account before they would come. I was told that they were no good, but they claimed I should not listen to the completion. Three guys showed up and when around the house with there equipment and found nothing. I really do not think they knew what they where doing. After not finding, anything I get a report and a statement that they want to come back and re-check the phones. I was desperate and I guess they knew it. I agreed to let a Jared Ring fly back for the phones, but some other clown ended up on my door. I did not even let him in. Do not trust them. They are crooks.

Do It Yourself And Save!

There are all sorts of de-buggers and secret camera locators available at various stores in town that are affordable and simple to use.

Why should you pay some crook that kind of money when you can buy one of these neat little gadgets and do your own bug sweep?

I can't recommend anyone but there is a great little store in Austin, TX that has a good reputation and he does stand behind what he sells because I shop with him almost every other pay day.

Did you unscrew your speaker on your phone and check in there?

Did you call the phone company( from another phone) and speak with their security manager and tell them to check for a bug on your phone? Also, that you suspect someone has spliced into your phone and is using your phone service for free.

Did you get the maintenance man in your building to unlock the utility door and see if someone set up wires hooked up with alligator clips or if your phone hook-up in there has more wires than necessary? Or you could call the police and get them to have it checked for you? Or you can call your landlord and tell him or her that you suspect someone hooked into your telephone line to steal the service and be sure to go with him/her when it is checked.

There is a new surveillance technique that utilizes your personal desktop computer. The old one that I knew about uses your Internet connection.

Bugs can be places in overhead light fixtures, plants, radios, underneath furniture...the list is endless. I have heard of them being installed behind light plates and plug-in plates!

Besides, you don't know the guy who you called to sweep out your house. He could have been the guy who bugged your place in the first place or he might know the guy who did. Or he could put word out that you had a bug sweep done and were getting suspicious.

I would get a reputable state-licensed private investigator to do a sweep, preferably a retired FBI guy --and before I considered hiring anybody, I would run a few names by the State agnecy that licenses private investigators to see how many complaints this person had filed on them.

WHO WOULD WANT TO BUG YOU?
WHY?
It looks like to me you got RIPPED OFF BIG TIME!
No way am I letting ANY outsider into my business or my residence. I do all my own countersurveillance work.

Many Cons and Felons In The Counter Surveillance Biz

Just a comment, that though your file is a little outdated, this Counter Survelliance business is full of con artists and ex-felons looking to make a buck.

There are very few qualified bug sweeping companies out there. A good web site with valuable information on how to find a good company also provides a list of the top TCSM specialists in the country, and they are very few.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
