First, disregard my first response. It crossed paths with yours. I have never heard of such a thing, not covering so called manufacturer defects. What is the wording of your policy certificate? Does it explicitly state that?
Did you have any opportunity, given whatever venue and medium you bought it from, to know this in advance? I for one never would think to ask such a thing. I'd ask maybe if accidental breakage, spills, impact damage etc were covered, but I'd expect anything that otherwise ceases to function on its own would be covered.
That's what any REASONABLE person would expect and reasonability carries weight in civil cases. Contact your state agency that overseas insurers, as they usually oversee warrantors. Who sold it to you? Have you tried getting any help from them? Square Trade is owned by Allstate. @SquareTrade is their Twitter handle.
You might actually get some action by tagging them in a Tweet exposing this shameless loophole in coverage. Companies that couldn't care less about RR posts or BBB complaints sometimes shudder when angry Tweets are directed at them. Add hashtags likely to boost your tweet's exposure, liike #extendedwarranties, #ripoffs etc. Good luck.

Well, you certainly win the prize for brevity. If silent Calvin Coolidge posted here, this would be his complaint. I gotta say, my head spins when I see a post where the complainer goes on and on and on, writing a veritable book. It would be interesting though to have at least a teensy bit more info.

I was having trouble with my TCL TV. There is horizontal colored lines through the picture screen. I called the manufacturer and they said it was a manutacting defect but it was out of warranty. I thought I was smart for having bought the squaretrade extended warranty but upon many calls and hassles with squaretrade they told me that they will not cover it.
"We do not cover manufacturers defects" was their reason. I have since found online that there are thousands of other consumers that they have done this to.

What is the item that needs service? What’s wrong with it? What reason did they give you for not honoring your request for warranty service?
