St. Charles Nissan St Charles Nissan deceptive practice bait and switch St. Charles Missouri
We had quite the day. We went to the auto show and then to the Nissan display..I asked a gentleman named Courtney Williams about the EPP coupon and he provided me one and stated he was authorized to beat any offer that I had been given from any dealer by $500.00. I told him my best offer (It's real) but didn't disclose who it is from. Courtney called a sales manager named "Clayton" at St Peters Nissan. Courtney reported to me that Clayton told him he had a truck like I wanted and beat my best offer by not only $500.00 but $900.00. He advised me I could buy the 2018 Frontier S for $17,500.00 plus 200 doc fee. I have shopped sun up to dark for close to a week. I should have smelled a rat but I saw a significant savings and bit. I did ask if there were any discounts I had to qualify for to get that price and Courtney told me "No" I asked him if the truck was at St. Peters store and he told me "yes". He was still on the phone with Clayton who was asking me to put $500.00 down to insure the truck would be held for me until the wife and I could get there. I asked Courtney again if the truck was there and I could buy it for the $17,500.00 and take it home today. He told me "Yes" I refused to put money down but had Courtrney relay to Clayton that I was on my way to my car and we were going straight to St. Charles Nissan and would purchase the truck. I thanked Courtney Williams for the great deal and told him I would make sure he got credit for the sale and Mary and I headed to St. Charles Nissan.
Upon arrival we were to ask for Clayton. We did, but were sent a pleasant enough fellow named Ryan who seated us and left to get some things together. Quite a bit later when Ryan returned he informed us about the "Mistake" The mistake being they didn't have a truck like the one we were asked to put money down on to insure it would be there when we arrived. Ryan told us they would have one sent from Autoplaza in Woodriver IL and we would be able to wait a little and still buy the truck for $17,500.00 and drive it home. Again he left to get some things together.
Well, after about an hour and half of sitting neglected and ignored Ryan returned. He informed us Autoplaza and others would not trade with St Peters/St. Charles Nissan (I later was told by a salesman who used to work there that they are both owned by the same people, if true that just shows them for the liars they have proven to be) Ryan did bring a 2017 model with an automatic transmission and offer it to us as a comfort for our unfortunate situation. Well, it has the auto and was worth more when new, I thought it can't hurt to look at it. Turns out to be a used truck. Not a demo that can be sold with factory warranty or financing. A used truck ,a year older for the same money as their imaginary new truck. I wonder if his mother knows how he treats people? It looks to me Courtney Williams and Clayton are skimming potential buyers from the car show and baiting them with offers to good to be true. How is this fair to other dealers? They will rebut this with the old "'Honest mistake" routine. Please look at how I went out of my way to insure there were no mistakes and I was assured repeatedly by Courtney and Clayton (who wanted money to keep a vehicle on the lot he never had) all I had to do was go to St. Charles Nissan and buy a truck they assured me was there and drive home. Don't let the smell of an offer too good to be true lure you into wasting your day with these stereotypical bad car salesmen. I don't post this to be mean and not one word of this is made up. People should be aware of this dealership. How would you like your Mom to walk in and have to deal with these folks? BEWARE!
