I work for a Catholic Archdiocese facility run by nuns. In 2004, we purchased two 2004 Ford Windstar vans from North Ridge Ford in Chicago (now out of business) and paid cash for them. When we wanted to sell one of the vans, we noticed that we were never sent a title. We went down to the Illinois DMV to get new titles and found out that Ford Credit had liens on both vehicles. I was able to contact Ford Credit and get the liens released but now we are stuck paying the new title fees which are about $200. Since it was Ford's mistake, why aren't they paying for the title fees. I'm sure we already paid the dealer when the vehicles were purchased. These vehicles were purchased in 2004 and Ford Credit is telling us they have no records of the transactions.
