I was extremely skeptical to receive an unsolicited junk mailing from this so-called church. (My poor elderly grandmother had been taken advantage of by many of these fraudulent charitable/religious groups in the past.)

I wrote no interest on the first one and returned it to them in their own prepaid envelope. Surprise - I received another. With a thick black Sharpie I wrote all over it, tore up their junk and told them NOT to contact me again.

Surprise again. Even after notifying them in writing TWICE that I was NOT to be contacted, I received another mailing yesterday. At this point, I was beyond aggravated so I typed them a letter stating that their mailings were now considered harassment and that I had contacted the Attorneys General of both Massachusetts and Oklahoma. (I did actually file a complaint on line - it only took 2 minutes.)

When I finished the letter, I changed the font so that the letter printed out on 13 pages, told them I was Jewish (I'm not), and told them they were fakes and phonies and that I had researched their so-called church and it didn't exist. I placed my "nastygram" in their prepaid envelope, crossed out all their BS typed on the envelope and have it ready to mail. I plan to drop it in the mail tomorrow morning. If I hear from them again, I plan to contact the postmaster general and file another harassment complaint.

We have plenty of churches right here where I live. Why would I have someone pray by mail for me when no one knows where the money really is going or how it's being spent?!

OK Attorney General Got Involved!

#2Author of original report

Sat, April 26, 2008

After filing my complaint online, I received a copy of a letter from the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office addressed to St. Matthews Church. Briefly, the letter read that I had filed a complaint with them and St. Matthews was to remove me from their mailing list and not contact me again.

Now, we'll see if it works!

If only we could stop the telemarketers, too!
