Stamps.com ripoff, failed to cancel membership Los Angeles California
Stamps.com is the biggest scam going around. They offer you a free trial membership good for 30 days and $10 of free postage. I made sure to read the fine print so I knew when to cancel and how. On the 15th day I used all my allotted postage and decided to cancel early so there wouldn't be any question about it, I called the listed 800 number and spoke to a cancellation "specialist" and told her to cancel my membership. She did and said I would not be charged.
The second week into the following month I discovered a charge from stamps.com for the membership. I call them to find out why they charged me, they stated there was no record of me ever calling to cancel and that they would refer me to dispute resolutions. Before they transferred me again I stated clearly that I wanted all services terminated from them immediately.
I contacted the dispute department and they wanted me to email them my complaint. I did that, I explained to them about canceling the membership, I actually had the date and time I called in listed on my calendar. The dispute department stated that I should get a confirmation number for the cancellation. I replied and stated both times I cancelled the rep didn't give me a cancellation number, but thankfully I got the name of the last rep I spoke with and included it in my email.
The resolution center contacted me back stating that in no way did they make a mistake and failed to cancel my membership, however they couldn't give a reason that the last rep didn't give me a number, but they would not refund my membership.
That day my card was charged for another membership. I immediately contacted the dispute department and demanded a refund because I clearly cancelled all of any remaining service with them and had the emails and reps name to prove it. They again denied my request and said I had 2 memberships and only cancelled one even though I clearly stated to cancel ALL services and never charge me again.
I filled a complaint with the BBB.org to try to get some resolution from the troubles with them and let other people be aware of their SCAM. The BBB.org failed to get any of my money back.

hi, i too had trouble with them. i mean i'm still having trouble with them. i signed up. i cancelled right away. i received emails left and right. they told me that they had trouble charging my debit card. i told them again to cancel it. they told me that they were waiving the fees. this was last year!!!!! get this, i just got an email from them last week. i mean they are going back to harassing me. i finally blocked them off my email after the few letters that i got from them. well i told them once again to cancel. i told them that if they won't stop harassing me i was going to see my lawer. i told them that i was also going to turn them into the FTC federal trade commission. well they tell me that they wanted to pursue it. they want to get $15.99 for the one fee. they also want $143.99 for the total of 12 months that i tried to cancel. the $15.99 was for service charge. the $143.99 was for the product usage. which i never even used. they are trying to say that it was for downloading their software!!!!!! i hate scams.
