I had a 2.7 quart stainless steel tea kettle for over 20 years. One day the bottom bulged out making is unusable. The bottom was no longer flush against an electric stove nor seated well on a gas stove.

I looked at so many places, big and small from big box stores to that giant retailer that delivers FREE.

An equivalent was nowhere to be found. My thoughts prompted me to look into a restaurant supply warehouse. STANDARD RESTAURANT SUPPLY in Mesa, AZ was in an area that was convenient for me. A call was placed and I spoke with a very courteous and understanding woman who took the time to do some research. She found a kettle in stock that seemed to be to my liking and at a decent price. She offered to hold it at the front desk. The place is very huge, and I would never have found it easily if I just walked in.

A few days later, I stopped in to buy it. I met her and she had it waiting as she promised.

It was used for a few weeks when my son noticed rust on the bottom. I called her and she said to bring it in, which I did.

Of course, I did not have the receipt anymore. However, she did recognize me and greeted me with a smile. When I showed her the spoiled tea kettle, she called fir her manager as she did not have the authority to replace or refund the item.

Two people came to the front register and looked at the kettle. No comments were dal swap. They didn't have another one in stock. It happens. I then requested a refund since most businesses of that size could call on their vendor to replace or issue a refund. Apparently, both managers agreed not to refund the item.

Was I angry! I took the kettle to my car and left for home, quite annoyed.

What a nice way to treat a new customer. If yom are buying from STANDARD RESTAURANT SUPPLY in Mesa, AZ, buyer beware if you encounter similar issues.

What a turn off. I told several restauranteurs the Phoenix area the story. Some were surprised as I was at the treatment.
