Stanton Optical Clueless, Non-caring Toledo, Ohio
I went into Stanton Optical to purchase new glasses, as they advertised 2 pairs of glasses for the price of one. I had my eyes tested somewhere else but brought my written presciption to be filled. I picked out the frames & ordered my new 2 pairs of glasses. I was told that since my presciption was rather strong, they didn't always have my lenses in stock so they would take 5-7 days before they were in. I understood this and was fine with that. Eleven days later I got a message from Stanton saying that my glasses were in. I went to pick them up & the lady that works in the department that makes the glasses said that they made me reading glasses, even though that's not what I ordered. She said that she was going to question why the slip was marked as reading only but decided to just except them as they were.
Needless to say, they had to order new glasses. I was told once again that they would take 5-7 days. Ten days later I got a call that one pair of my glasses were done. The second pair was not done because one of the lab tech was an intern & he scratched the other lenses. I was then told that they would have these lenses done in 1 to 2 days. Five days later the glasses were done.
I went in to pick my glasses up and did not try them on because I didn't have time. After taking my new glasses home, I kept seeing weird shapes through my glasses. I tried cleaning them several times to no avail. After examining them, I found that there were small bubbles inside the left lense. I took them back to Stanton Optical and talked to the manager, Allen Garland. He said that there were marks in the lense from a machine that they use to hold the lenses while being cut.
At this point I am totally fed up and tell Allen that I just want my money back. He told me that he can't return my money because that's company policy. I asked for the corporate office phone number which he then gave me. I called them twice & the customer service department told me that they talked to the manager & he said that there was nothing wrong with my glasses. He flat out lied to the corporate office!!!
I would NEVER recommend Stanton Optical unless you're looking for alot of frustration & grief!! The mananger, Allen Garland, is very uncaring & doesn't have a clue what he is doing. His customer service skills are awful!
