Stanton Optical -Evansville, I did not see the true nature of this Stanton Optical and they're blind to customer service and repeat business. Evansville Indiana

Unfortunately, I didn't read the Ripoff Report about Stanton Optical in Evansville, before I visited the business in December 2016, for a "free eye exam" and inexpensive pair of glasses.

After my exam while looking at the glasses, I discussed with Ms Jodie Nanney (General Manager per her card) the possibility of wanting contacts too. She said I would need to see the Optometrist again for a contact lense eye exam but had no openings for over 2 hours, so I went out and sat in my vehicle in the parking lot until the doctor could see me.

When we approached Dr McEllhiney for my appointment, she told Ms Nanney that another exam wasn't necessary since she already had all the information she needed for contacts from my original eye exam earlier that day. She gave me some trial contacts and we went back to finalize my account standing.

Ms Nanney totaled up the charges, removing the $55 paid earlier (that was to be credited to my account when I ordered my new glasses after deciding if the contacts would work) and rung up new charges of $44 for the contact eye exam I didn't need plus $20 for the 2 year Vision Club membership for a total due of $64 which I put on the same credit card.

Ms Nanney wrote on my receipt directions to staff of what she had done and agreed to with me. When I arrived today to order my glasses and try another option on contacts, I found out Ms Nanney was no longer there and needed to speak with a gentleman named Hagan. He confirmed the $55 wasn't refunded and wouldn't be deducted from my new glasses.

He unfortunately would not give me credit for the $55 that I was promised to receive toward my eye glass purchase nor any of the $64 paid by me previously for the non-existant "contact eye examination" ($44) and the ($20) for the Vision Club. But he would certainly be glad to order my glasses for an additional $203 from me.

So my free eye examination and free pair of trial contacts only cost me $119. That didn't sound like much of a bargain to me and since there was no store manager in the office today to speak with about these issues, I left feeling not unlike the others that have posted here. Bad business is bad whether it's planned, accidental or uninformed employees and it's "my loss".

There are a lot of good "eyecare providers" in Evansville but Stanton Optical is NOT one of them!
