Complaint Review: Star Communications

I was contacted by "Tracey Jordan" of Star Communications on Oct. 14, 2005 at 8:45pm EDT. She stated that I won a $500.00 shopping spree, $300.00 calling card to use for 10 days, $200.00 Entertainment Package, and 1/2 off on my cable and I could cancel within 10 days if I didn't want to partake on a monthly basis of their promotional. I stated NO several times, even on tape, which they stopped and had me start back from the begining. All answers had to be yes, otherwise they could not send the information. They of course asked for bank information. After hanging up the phone, b/c we still have dial-up, I check for any information regarding this company. I found this web site!

Thank you for your stories and I am very sorry about your losses. I have called my bank and reported them. Is there any reports, lawsuits, complaints, .. that I should file? I called "Star Communications" 15 minutes after getting off the phone with thier business and they stated they could not cancel my request for 3 business days b/c that is how long it takes to get in the system. I think that you only have 3 business days to cancel a transaction, without any penalty or obligation. Other names used in the phone call were "David" and "Erica Brown." Erica sounded exactly like "Tracey Jordan"
