I first had contact with this company last 6/05. A telemarketer called me stated that I could recieve a card or rebates worth $500 of murchandise at stores like Home Depot and Wal-mart. All for just trying some product (that I'm not even sure what it was)that I would recieve within 10-14 days by regular mail, but I would have to pay S&H of 4.95.

After recieving package I could decide to keep the service or not either way I would keep the $500 card. I debated in giving chk acct # and routing number but he finally convinced me (said that i gave my chk acct out all the time at stores like wal-mart which was were they had gotten my info to get ahold of me). I immediatley regreted it and called them back at the customer service #(1-800-357-9258) he gave me to cancel. Turns out he was a third party and he had to still get my info to the company for me to be able to cancel which would take a couple of days & the $4.95 was not refundable.

Long story short. I never got the package and completely forgot about the call until 2 months later my checks started bouncing. Sure enough in the 2 months they had taken a total $350.50 including the inicial $4.95 for program service fees for this service I was supposidly enrolled in. (Sept 2005) I called immediately after finding out to cancel and ask for a refund. I was denied the refund due to I had supposedly been recieving this service from them but that they would cancel and send me the $500 (rebates card; shopping spree what ever it was). Turns out they had my address wrong and they had put it under my husbands mispelled name.

I have since then called 6 times. I have yet to recieve anything they claim they have sent me the pkg 5 times already. This last time 1/25/06 the supervisor they contacted me with gave me the web address and said I could get find out about rebate forms there. Nothing about the $500 rebates just some other offers. Mean while I'm waiting once again for this pkg they keep sending & I keep not recieving (they don't understand why?).

I've reported with the BBB but did't get anywhere. I did see there that the BBB did't recommend doing business with them. Wish I would have seen that before. The BBB got back to me and Star Communication claimed not to be able to get ahold of me. I get all my other mail at my address but theirs seem to not get their somehow.

I've also written a letter of complaint to Kevin Oliver who is named as ceo or owner by the BBB. No answer. Although this last time I called they claimed there was a letter in answer to that letter in my file. I told Tina the supervisor i spoke to that something must realy be wrong with their mailing system.

Mean while I'm out over $350 believe me I'm not answering any more unknown calls.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
